I think I will completely re-write it, so there will be a different version eventually. Still a work-in-progress thing.
Having some writer’s block at the mo.
    Not my usual waffly self.

I’m completely distracted by what’s going on in Japan. The country, THE WHOLE ISLAND of Japan, was moved eight feet west. All GPS in the area are wonky. All aircraft have to be recalibrated.

    So don’t apologize.

All aircraft have to be recalibrated.
They already have to contend with the gradual shift in magnetic north.
Apparently some airports (that mark the degrees on their runways) are moaning that they have to keep amending the numbers.

Anyway, the flights landing in Japan I guess will have do it manually or partially override autopilot.

    Eight feet! Holy shit.

I rode the Loma Prieta in 1989 and I have to admit that the imagery is triggering me so I’m having to take it in small doses. Loma Prieta only had a surface wave magnitutde of 7.1 and it was the single most scary thing that has ever happened to me.

There is no way to describe the reality check a person gets upon watching their nighbors cars LITERALLY bounce down the street like rubber balls.

I can’t get it out of my mind. My daughter was in Japan during the Kobe earthquake; the building she was in was shaken. She still is terrified at the memory. But this …. It’s the worst crisis to hit Japan since WW2. We all take from the Earth, and She takes us back. She’s rolling over in bed. Water and earth. Water and earth.
